Holla On Monday we started new piece of writing this piece is report we are doing it on animals I choose Meerkats we got some note taking sheets and we had to read the hole thing then select certain things to put on our sheet then start to right our report about our animal we choose. Did you know that Meerkats are only the size of a ruler when standing on their back legs. We also had a class volleyball session on Monday I was able to serve the ball and get it to the other side of the volleyball court. We learnt the different ways to hit the ball over the net you can hit it with your finger tips up into the air and over the net if you don't hit it hard enough it wont get enough height and wont go over the net another way is to put one hand on top of the other and cross your thumbs over top then hit the ball with your arms just above your wrists. We learnt about different types of characters for reading there are Static or dynamic and flat or round static characters are characters whose personality doesn't change throughout the story dynamic characters their personality has changed by the end of the story.we also learnt what a antagonist and a protagonist is a antagonist is the villain or bad guy in the story and a protagonist is the good guy character of the story. On Tuesday we had our first Science session with Mrs Tyson we learnt where everything is and where we can or cant go first we learnt which part of the room is the classroom and which is the lab we only do experiments in the lab we are not allowed to go into storeroom one or two without permission. To get to storeroom two you have to go through storeroom one. We also learnt about P.O.E.W. pronounced (poo-we) the teacher she made it sound grouse so the students would remember it. P.E.O.W stands for Predict . Observe . Explain . What If . First you predict what will happen for your experiment. Then you observe it happening. After that you explain how you think it happens. then you say what if I changed this factor ad you try that. The way Mrs Tyson gets us to pack up is we have a competition between the classes of which class can tidy up the quickest who ever got the most wins by the end of our sessions Mrs Tyson will buy hot chips for us to have one lunchtime.
On Wednesday and Thursday we did not have jump jam or french because there was a band camp on students from Cambridge middle school and another school come and stay one night and over that time they learn skills and work towards a performance on Thursday night the student from our school that are in our school band take part in the workshop as well.
On Friday we had our second session of science we did experiment that includes a lighter and a teabag we lit the top of the teabag and it burnt almost to the bottom and flew in the air.
